NEW PARK CLASS TIME for October! 6:00pm
Starting the week of July 6th, we are returning to Presidio Park! Classes will be held Wednesdays and Fridays and 6:00 pm (unless there is rain). Classes will still be $8 for 45 minutes. I will still be doing free zoom classes on Thursday nights at 6:30.
This class time is only through November 6th! Then we will move to weekends and Zoom.
For now MASKS will still be required as we wait to see the size and effects of the BA.5 Omicron subvariant wave. As well we may start incorporating back in 2 person drills (like short forms or bunkai). If you are not quite comfortable with that yet (no worries neither am I), you can work the drills solo or with a family/friend member who came with you. We wont start sparring yet, but that may be an option in the future. If possible, please make payments ahead of time via the website. Uniforms and Belts are not required.
I have started private (or family) 55 minute kobudo classes on Saturdays and Sundays mornings by appointment. These classes will be $15, with $10 for each additional family member. Facemasks and 12 feet social distancing will be required, but karate gis will not be. Lessons are at the Southeast corner of Parkway Park. Lessons will be held at 9am, 10am, and 11am. I might open a 12pm if there is a demand for it. You can either book appointments week to week or request a regular time.
PRIVATE KOBUDO LESSONS STILL AVAILABLE!
“What is kobudo?” Kobudo is the practice of traditional Okinawan weapons. Karate and Kobudo are often referred to as the brother and sister of Okinawan Martial Arts. While it is not required to do both, it is strongly encouraged. Your karate will improve your kobudo, and your kobudo will improve your karate. You will need to provide your own weapons. Whatever weapons you bring that week, will be the weapons we work. This will now be open to yellow belts and above.
“Will this count towards our class hours?” Traditionally, I’ve said no to this. But if you want to spend the last 10-15 minutes of your lesson time to work karate katas, then I will count them, as long as you haven’t reached your 2 class maximum credits for the week.
Book your time now before they all fill up and I have to start a wait list. On the Kobudo page you can see what times are available for this week. Text or call me at:
